Before we meet, I ask everyone to use an online portal to fill out the necessary forms. This allows me to better understand the issues and symtoms you are wanting to address and explains in detail what to expect from me. During your first session, I will ask questions to get to know you better and to understand more about what brings you to counseling. You may have questions about the counseling process. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, and I will do my best to provide you with helpful and informative answers. Plan on an hour of your time.
It is an extensively researched modality to help people recover from stress related issues, a single trauma, or years of chronic, ongong situations experienced as a child or adult. This method reduces the vividness and current emotional disturbances associated with the traumatic memories. It focuses on changing emotions, thoughts or behaviors and allows the brain to resume its natural healing. Some people opt for a brief treatment segment where only one event (such as a car accident) is addressed while others choose a longer treatment segment to address long-standing core issues related to negative beliefs about themselves.
